CryptoArte Pre-Launch Update

Howdy! As hinted in my previous article (see Pre-Launching CryptoArte), I’ve been working hard getting CryptoArte ready for its official launch. While it’s not quite there yet, it’s getting a lot closer and so it’s time for a quick update. Here’s what’s new:

Quick Stats

Here’re some quick stats on CryptoArte Pre-Launch to date:

Total provably unique paintings: 9,895

Paintings Minted: 140

Paintings Sold: 19

Paintings Transferred / reserved: 52

Paintings For sale / readily available: 69

Paintings available upon request: 9,755

The CrytpoArte Store

It used to be you could only buy CryptoArte paintings and tokens at exchanges and marketplaces that support non-fungible tokens (e.g.: OpenSea). While CryptoArte paintings will continue to be offered at OpenSea (love them!) and other platforms, I want the user experience for folks already looking at a painting on the CrytoArte Dapp to be as frictionless as possible.

To that end, I launched a new store where you can browse through the readily available (minted) paintings and buy them right away:

https://www.cryptoarte.io/store

The CryptoArte Store

Clicking on a painting takes you to the painting’s page. The painting’s page lets you buy it by simply clicking on the “Buy Painting” button:

CrytpoArte Painting #402 — Buy Painting please? :-)

Clicking “Buy Painting” will let you confirm the transaction and, once the network has processed it, download the high-resolution image of your painting. You can also then order signed and ready to hang, framed prints.

Improved Mobile support

So far in August 2018, 76.64% of our visitors are coming from a mobile browser. I’ve done significant work to improve the mobile experience and happy to announce you can now seamlessly browse the entire art collection, connect to the blockchain, and purchase paintings directly on our Dapp through the store.

I’ve tested the CryptoArte Dapp on both Coinbase Wallet (formerly Toshi) and Trust Wallet and they both work great! And, if your mobile browser is not web3 enabled, the Dapp now detects that and points you in the right direction as well.

I’ve some items to continue to improve upon within this category (e.g.: requesting not yet minted paintings is still a manual process), yet already seeing a great response from users — a few of them having purchased paintings from their mobile wallets/browsers already.

The CryptoArte Sales Contract

To support the new store, we released a new smart contract. The verified and published source code can be found here:

I may actually write a technical / dev post to further digest the Sales contract smart code. Within this category, there’re still improvements to be made as I continue to experiment with pricing, supply, demand, and more.

Parting Thoughts

Next, I’ll continue to work on polishing the user experience, minting more paintings, launch marketing, and other smaller items. We should be launching soon so keep an eye out for more updates coming soon.

In the meantime, the platform is already very solid and there’s plenty of paintings available for immediate purchase ;-).

If you have any questions, drop me a note at hello@cryptoarte.io or head over to the Discord chat.

Thanks for reading! If you like CryptoArte, please support the project by purchasing a painting, clapping, jumping, smiling, yelling, and sharing.
