A special thank you gift for early collectors

As CryptoArte approaches almost 1,000 paintings sold, I couldn’t be more grateful. I am deeply humbled by all of the amazing support, purchases, kind words, and encouragement that I’ve received not just since the inception of the project, but especially over the past few weeks.

Without this support, CryptoArte would have never made it to where it is today: a beautiful community and art project that is progressively becoming more noticed and appreciated, and that is now well on its way towards a very bright future. Art has no value in the vacuum. CryptoArte’s value is only as good as its community and collectors, and for that I am extremely thankful.

So, as a token of gratitude, today I wish to respectfully extend a personalized gift to every Ethereum address owner who has held a CryptoArte token to date. That is 384 of y’all!

Minted price floor lowered

As you are reading this today, I have lowered the price floor for minted paintings on the cryptoarte.io website to 0.1eth. My intent is to make the collection accessible to many more collectors in the short term, in alignment with my original mission statement (from the about page):

He hopes this art collection, non-fungible token, and decentralized app will help grow the Ethereum community by fostering awareness of the technology in an accessible and fun way. He also hopes the paintings will provoke thoughtful conversations around blockchain technology and make more people aware of what the Ethereum blockchain is, how it works, and how it can be leveraged.

While significant market fluctuations and other external factors may play a role, I intend to keep the price floor fixed to 0.1eth for paintings within the current minted inventory (~585 tokens). Once this batch is sold out, I will review pricing again.

Non-minted painting requests will continue to be offered at 0.25eth for the time being, but may go down or up in price as I manage to further automate the process and based on overall demand and other factors. Please note that currently non-minted painting requests and purchases can take a while to process.

Traits and rarity

This is something I’ve been wanting to introduce for a long time. Statistics on the overall collection are not only fascinating for extracting traits, rarity, and trends from the collection and paintings, but they also help tell the story of Ethereum.

For example, the painting with the most one-block miners (i.e.: miners that have mined only one block in the entirety of the collection and hence can only be seen in a single painting) has 7 of them (Painting #93).

I expect to share more about traits and rarity in the days to come, but here’s a quick excerpt. As you are reading this, the cryptoarte website is now showing rarity, statistics, and traits of both paintings and miners.

Here we have the lowest painting number for an available minted painting at the time of writing, Painting #313, on the primary market.

New in OpenSea

Traits and Stats for all minted paintings in the collection are now also available on OpenSea. Check out Painting #858:

Keep in mind OpenSea only indexes minted paintings, so properties percentages are relative to that subset of the collection (except for the miners’ rarity under “Boosts” which is calculated for the whole collection). For the Stats, you’ll notice they are in the X of Y format. The Y variable refers to the maximum value seen across the collection for that trait.

In addition, you can now also filter by traits at the collection level. In the search below, you can see how paintings with high miner rarity and a high number of miners are priced higher than others.
